Tatyana is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#21489) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. With a strong background in education, she has extensive experience supporting individuals through cultural adjustment, settlement, crisis, and personal growth.
Originally from Ukraine, Tatyana understands what it’s like to navigate a new culture and environment. Since moving to Kamloops in 2012, she has become part of its welcoming community. Having lost both parents to cancer in her twenties, Tatyana also knows the pain and complexity of grief firsthand. These life experiences deeply inform her work and inspire her to walk beside clients as they find their own path toward healing and wholeness.
Tatyana offers a compassionate, trauma- and grief-informed approach that helps clients reconnect with a sense of safety, trust, and inner strength. Her style is collaborative and holistic, integrating Emotion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Counselling, Mindfulness, and Polyvagal Theory. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sandtray EMDR, and Observed and Experiential Integration (OEI), and is a certified facilitator of the Safe and Sound Protocol—a sound-based treatment that supports nervous system regulation and resilience.
Tatyana works with children (7–12), adolescents (17+), and adult clients who are navigating trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, and self-esteem concerns. She aims to help clients build self-compassion, empowerment, and meaningful connections with themselves and others.
Her counselling services are covered by most Extended Health plans and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
